Jenifer Corker, Multidisciplinary Artist Designer

Born in London and now based in Sussex, Jenifer Corker is a multidisciplinary maker with a BA in Fashion & Textiles and an MA in Metalwork & Jewellery from the Royal College of Art.

Her creative practice uniquely bridges these disciplines. Transitioning from fashion to jewellery, Jenifer adapted her pattern cutting skills directly to metalwork. She hand-pierces metal sheets and joins the seams to construct intricate, three-dimensional shapes. Demonstrating an egalitarian approach to her craft, she awards equal importance to every material she handles, whether working with 18ct gold, sterling silver or brass.

Recently, Jenifer has become deeply intrigued by hag stones. Shaped by centuries of being tumbled in the sea, these unique stones are defined by their naturally formed holes, and they historically served as protective amulets. Everyone from ancient Druids to 19th-century fishermen used them, with the latter threading them onto the ropes used to haul boats up the beach. Today, these coastal artefacts find new life within Jenifer’s sculptural jewellery.
