The Last Tree and the Art of Nature in collaboration with Luke Adam Hawker
27 Apr – 25 Oct
Luke Adam Hawker is an author and ‘nature-artist’ whose illustrated book The Last Tree depicts the intricate beauty of the arboreal. Until 25 October, Polesden Lacey is collaborating with Hawker on an exhibition which draws upon the book, featuring extracts from it alongside original ink line drawings, prints and illustrations. The exhibition invites the viewer to imagine a world without trees, underscoring their not oft-appreciated yet vital role performed in our landscapes, both physical and ideal, and ecosystems. It is our connection with the natural world that Hawker endeavours to strengthen in his book, and indeed this exhibition shares that goal. Come along to have your own relationship with nature refreshed, and perhaps even rejuvenated.
