An abundance of wonderful art will adorn Rye’s Old Gym in May, courtesy of the artist-led Contemporary British Painting group. Members of the group, drawn from across the UK and Ireland, will convene in Rye to declare a new geography of contemporary art practice with London no longer at the centre. Happily, the group have chosen Sussex as their focal point, with its wealth of artistic venues and institutions that stretches along the South Coast into Kent. There is a vast array of work on show here, with all tastes bound to be catered for.
