Phillip Cole's work is interested in the form taken by consumerist ephemera, packaging and registration marks for example. Despite their in-built transience, these things nonetheless take up something of an aesthetic presence in our world. In his work, Cole gives equal weighting to both painting and sculpture, having experimented at length with polyester resin.
