Tadek Beutlich: On and Off the Loom
18 Jan – 22 Jun

Polish-born Tadek Beutlich was an innovative textile artist and relief-print maker, inspired by folklore, modernism and the horrors of war. He was much influenced by Ethel Mairet, who he was introduced to as a student, and moved into her former home and studio, Gospels in Ditchling, after her death. There he produced much of his best work, incorporating unconventional materials, such as seed pods and Xray film, into his tapestries and textile construction. This exhibition includes one of his masterworks, Dreamland, an 8ft-tall creation fashioned from unspun jute, horsehair and mohair. Unravel more info at ditchlingmuseumartcraft.org.uk
