In 24 years the Shipley Arts Festival has grown from being a single-night concert in Shipley Parish Church to being a summer-long festival premiering major new compositions. Performers to have graced the the stage include Roderick Williams (who was commissioned by Charles III to write a piece for his coronation) and the late Jon Lord, formerly leader and keyboardist of Deep Purple.
