Quentin Blake: A Hundred Portraits

16 Mar 8 Sep

Quentin Blake, A Hundred Portraits.

Iconic illustrator Sir Quentin Blake is no stranger to Hastings, having lived in an ancient house in the Old Town for forty years. Don’t just take our word for it – Blake himself has described the seaside town as his “spiritual home”. It is an appropriate place, then, to host this very special exhibition of portraits donated by Sir Quentin. The pieces, which range from large works in watercolour pencil to postcard-sized pieces in biro, are all for sale, with the money going to good causes. Prices start at a few hundred pounds. Don’t miss out on the extraordinary opportunity to see these works, which taken together amount to a celebration of the “transformative” power of drawing, in Blake’s words. What’s more, if you’re a Hastings or Rother resident, you’ll be eligible for half-price admission.
