A new installation by book artist Su Blackwell reimagines the creative process which led Rudyard Kipling to conjure up his much-loved classic, The Jungle Book. ‘Bateman’s Reimagined’ is created from copies of the story’s original handwritten manuscript, commissioned especially for Bateman’s. Kipling’s words loop and curl across hundreds of pages, nestling a model of the house at Bateman’s.

Peer inside miniature paper sculptures of The Jungle Book characters created by Bateman’s volunteers and marvel at the extraordinary ethereal quality of Su Blackwell’s intricate creation.

Su Blackwell’s artwork will be displayed in Carrie’s Office, which is a small room off the entrance hall in the house at Bateman’s. The room is only accessible by climbing a flight of five steps.
