From May through July, Eastbourne’s Devonshire Collective will host the first solo exhibition of work by Sean Steadman. Foremostly a painter, Steadman’s work is interested in the intersections between painting and other mediums. In these works, Steadman follows the throughlines that connect painting with printmaking. These pieces are fascinated with form itself; it is never clear where foreground ends and background begins. Steadman’s forms spill into the frame of the painting, never fully settling in one place.
