TICEHURST: Craft courses all week and a fair and solstice celebrations on 21 June

Step into Ticehurst a small village in the heart of Sussex and find an enchanting world of artisan galleries and shops. In the heart of the village stands The Bell, a 500-year-old Tudor coaching inn. Installed throughout its historic buildings is an extraordinary art collection by star names, such as Francis Bacon, Tracey Emin, Gilbert & George, Banksy and Graham Sutherland, alongside local artists and makers. Each of its seven rooms has been curated around a theme which is drawn out through hand-painted walls and bespoke furniture. In the garden are individual guest lodges, each a sculpture-architecture hybrid furnished entirely with handcraft items. Together they create a magical craft village of their own.

Midsumor Fair
Head to the bell on on Saturday 21 June for some midsummer magic: a selling exhibition co-curated with MADE Brighton and featuring work by print-makers including Sarah Young and Flora McLachlan, textile artist Carola van Dyke, embroiderer Emily Barnett and celebrated designer Sarah Arnett. FREE

Wander through the village to discover community events at Greenfinch, a haven of handmade and artisanal goods; The Old Haberdashery, filled with vintage charm and tactile treasures; and Unset Element, a dynamic space where creativity and concept meet.
