Over a century and a half since that most ground-breaking of art exhibitions opened in Paris in 1874, this ‘exhibition on screen’ from director Ali Ray tells the story of how the first Impressionist exhibition came about. Made in collaboration with the Musee d’Orsay and National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C, the film draws on eye-witness accounts and historical records alongside input from historians and curators.
