COLOUR at the Royal Pavilion

21 Mar 19 Oct

Fans of Alexandra Loske’s articles on colour, which have featured in ROSA Magazine since our first issue, will be thrilled to learn that her expertise lies at the heart of the Royal Pavilion’s exciting new show, COLOUR.

Loske is, of course, the head curator at Brighton’s sumptuous palace, and a world-renowned expert on colour, and she has devised this experimental event, in which visitors are invited to take a chromatic promenade through the Pavilion’s majestic Regency rooms.

Each room, blending Indian, Chinese and Regency influences, was carefully designed to bring the sensual impact of its colour to life, with the softness and fresh charm of the colour ‘peachblossom’ in the Long Gallery, followed by rich and saturated blues and reds in the adjoining Music and Banqueting Rooms.

Rare books on colour are on show, with information about the restoration techniques that have brought the Pavilion’s interiors back to life, and exhibits on the history of Brighton’s cultural scene.

The exhibition launches on March 21 – International Colour Day – and runs alongside a full programme of colourrelated events and workshops.
