Hove Museum & Art Gallery houses the South East Arts Craft Collection and has a significant Contemporary Craft Collection.  Over 80 exhibits are on display by leading national and international craft makers. Many have been influential in the development of British contemporary craft including makers such as Cynthia Cousins, Kate Malone, Richard Slee, and Tadek Beutlich. 

For Sussex Craft Week, Lucy Faithful, Assistant Curator, at Brighton & Hove Museums, is giving a special introduction and guided tour of this stunning Craft Collection. From bold ceramics and wood craft to intricate tapestries, explore practice and inspiration in works by celebrated makers from Sussex and beyond. In this whistle-stop 20 minute guided tour, you’ll uncover the rich heritage of local craft and see how it’s shaping contemporary creativity today.
