Hove Museum & Art Gallery houses the South East Arts Craft Collection and a has significant Contemporary Craft Collection with almost 300 exhibits by leading national and international craft makers who have been influential in the development of British contemporary craft including national makers like Grayson Perry, Kate Malone, Alice Kettle, Richard Slee, and Cynthia Cousins.

For Sussex Craft Week, Laurie Bassam, Curator of Art, Craft and Design at Brighton & Hove Museums, is giving a special guided tour of this stunning Craft Collection. From bold ceramics to intricate tapestries, explore works by celebrated makers from Sussex and beyond. In this whistle-stop 20 minute guided tour, you’ll uncover the rich heritage of local craft and see how it’s shaping contemporary creativity today.
