To celebrate his life and work in the 250th year since his birth, Towner Eastbourne are exhibiting some of J.M.W. Turner’s finest watercolours held in private collections. The exhibition seeks to contextualise Turner among his contemporaries, such as Thomas Girtin and John Sell Cotman, and to capture the excitement that developments in landscape painting caused at the time.
