EXHIBITION: Held in Form

14 Jun, 2025 11:00 AM 22 Jun, 2025 5:00 PM

The bowl as a practical object and a work of art.

Sarah Ruthven, Tidelines

Founded by Wendy March in 2024, Worthing’s ‘delightfully unique’ Chintz and Wood is fast making a name for its excellent eye for the best in sustainable and handcrafted homeware. Discover stylish pieces made using local wood, vintage textiles and natural dyes, by the likes of Jubal Prevatte, Ashdown Pottery and Sarah Ruthven (a Sussex Contemporary ROSA Award 2024 runner-up).

This exhibition, titled Held in Form, explores the bowl as both function and expression. It brings together makers working in wood, ceramic, and basketry—each piece shaped by hand, held in use. From the turned to the woven, the sculpted to the coiled, these vessels embody the dialogue between tradition and contemporary craft. A celebration of form, material, and the artistry of making.
