Mark was born in Yorkshire and studied photography at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, before moving to London where he began a career in still life photography. He later became interested in digital illustration and eventually moved into a profession as a children’s illustrator, working with CGI. He moved to Sussex in 2001 and it was there that he reignited his passion for landscape photography, exploring the local landscapes, particularly the Ashdown Forest and the South Downs National Park, with his dogs and his camera.

Mark’s work coalesces photography, painting and collage, to create atmospheric pictures inspired by his experiences in nature, with a particular focus on trees. They are presented as limited edition prints on sheets of brushed aluminium, which gives the work a uniquely dynamic look, depth of colour and contemporary feel. Mark will bring a selection of TREESCAPES to ROSA Botanical Art Fair, with each work including a title with the GPS coordinates of where the original photograph was taken. Visitors can then find the location on interactive maps and experience it in person.
