Julian Wild

Sculpture Garden

Julian Wild has been making sculpture for 30 years.  After graduating from Kingston University, Wild worked as an assistant to Damien Hirst before developing his own career path, leading him to exhibitions at venues including: Leighton House Museum, Modern Art Oxford, Chatsworth House (Sotheby’s), Sculpture in the City, Canary Wharf, The Fine Art Society, V22, William Benington Gallery and The Ann Norton Sculpture Garden in Florida.

Julian Wild’s sculpture ‘Miami Tree’ will be featured in the Sculpture Garden at ROSA Botanical Art Fair. This work is the prototype for his large scale sculpture commission for the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail.

‘Miami Tree’ is a cartoon version of a natural structure. Made from box section stainless steel, the work articulates its way upwards from ground level with its electric blue colour. Adorning the sculptures’ surface are blobs, fungi of mirror polished stainless steel that could be fungi or water droplets. Although seemingly unnatural, the work references the natural world and mankind’s desire to order nature through its form and colour.

Julian lives and works in Newhaven, East Sussex where he has recently launched an exciting new art college: CEMENT.
