Delphine Lebourgeois is a contemporary French artist based in London, who has established a practice that bridges the gap between illustrative precision and fine art tradition.

Drawing is the cornerstone of her practice, through which she explores human psychology, fairy tale and storytelling. By synthesising diverse stylistic influences – from Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary comics – she has developed a signature aesthetic that challenges traditional boundaries.

She describes her rebellious female figures, often depicted marching in unison, as “guardians of individual freedom”.

Lebourgeois has exhibited widely in Europe, Asia and the US. Her work has featured in The Guardian, Vogue, Time Out and Stylist, and is in high-profile collections, such as Soho House.
