Cara Wassenberg is a sculptor working in copper, steel and glass, who combines multiple craft processes such as forging, welding and patination. Her ideas come from the landscapes she walks through, the water she swims in and the forms she finds. Wassenberg has trained with metalsmiths and artists in London, Lisbon, Memphis and Berlin, including Achim Kuhn, an East German Designer and blacksmith, where Wassenberg helped to restore some of the city’s monumental copper sculptures after the reunification. Her work has been selected for exhibitions internationally and she is also a tutor in metal-based courses at West Dean.
